1. Procedure for obtaining a new license :

The applicant must have been declared successful in the Cinema Operator Examination conducted by the Cinema Operators Examination Board.

Application for Cinema Operator License should be submitted to the office of “ Government Chief Electrical Inspector , Chennai – 32” along with the following .

1. Original Remittance Challan Rs. 50/- to be paid online under this section. ( Online Payment Procedures )
2. Eligibility certificate issued by the Board for verification and withdrawal.
3. Two copies of photographs ( 5 cm x 7.5 cm) taken within one year of application.
4. Two specimen signatures of the applicant.

* Operator License will be issued upon receipt of the above . ( Valid for 5 years)

2. Procedure for renewing a cinema operator license :

The application for license renewal must be submitted three months before the license expires .

Further, the following details should be submitted directly to the address “ Government Chief Electrical Inspector , Chennai- 32” .

1. Original Remittance Challan Rs. 30/- to be paid online under this section. ( Online Payment Procedures )
2. Original operator license.
3. Two copies of photographs ( 5 cm x 7.5 cm) taken within one year of application.
4. Two specimen signatures of the applicant.

* Upon receipt of the above , the operator license will be renewed for another five years .

Note:

• An application received late , even if received before the expiry date of the license, will be treated as a late application . Further, a penalty of Rs. 10/- or part thereof for every month of delay shall be payable along with the renewal fee.
• If the application is received after the expiry of the license , but within 3 months from the date of expiry , a penalty of Rs. 280/- will be levied in addition to the renewal fee.
• In all other cases, the license is considered expired and an application must be made for a new license.

3. Procedure for issuing duplicate license :

In case the license is lost , mutilated or damaged , an application for a duplicate license can be submitted directly to the address “ Government Chief Electrical Inspector , Chennai – 32” stating the circumstances along with the following attachments .

1. Original Remittance Challan Rs. 25/- to be paid online under this section. ( Online Payment Procedures )
2. Two copies of photographs ( 5 cm x 7.5 cm) taken within one year of application.
3. Two specimen signatures of the applicant.

Note: A duplicate license will be issued at the discretion of the Government Chief Electrical Inspector.
