Renewal of License for Electric Lift or Moving Walkways (Form ‘F’):

1. Every application for renewal of license to operate electric lift or escalator shall be submitted to the Inspector in Form “G” online at www.tnei.tn.gov.in/lift three months before the expiry of the license period along with e-receipt of fee paid through electronic payment system at Government Treasury through website www.karuvoolam.tn.gov.in

1. In case of an electric lift with 5 stops, Rs. 5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand Only)
2. Rs. 10,000 (Rupees Ten Thousand Only) in case of an electric lift with more than 5 stops.
3. For each moving staircase system , Rs. 10,000 (Rupees Ten Thousand Only)

In case of application for renewal of license along with fee , a copy of annual maintenance agreement entered into between the owner of the lift or escalator system and the lift or escalator system company or inspection reports obtained from a competent authorized person for each year after the issue or renewal of the license, structural stability certificate obtained from a registered structural engineer for buildings constructed before the formation of the Urban Local Body (if applicable), copy of insurance policy taken by the owner of the lift or escalator system along with insurance for persons using the lift or escalator systems, etc. If the same is not submitted to the Inspector three months before the expiry of the license period, for each month or part thereof, the licensee shall pay an additional fee of Rs. 500/- to the Government Treasury for each lift or escalator system for any delay in the period . An e-receipt for payment made through the electronic payment system through the website must be submitted online.

Upon receipt of the application along with the fee as requested under the above provision , the inspector shall conduct the inspection within fifteen days.

Further , if he is satisfied that the application complies with the above statutory provisions and these rules, he shall renew the Inspector’s License online in Form “F*” within 15 days from the date of receipt of the letter regarding the rectification of the deficiencies.
